Every paper presented at ICETOL 2027 is published in the Abstracts Book. Full-text publication is optional and needs a separate application after the conference.


For inclusion in the final programme, in the conference Abstracts Book and in other publications, at least one author must be registered by the late registration deadline.

Previous proceedings are available in the Archive.

Overview of Publication Opportunities

All papers presented at ICETOL 2027 follow a two-stage publication structure:

Stage 1 · Automatic

Abstract Publication

  • Abstracts of all papers presented at the conference are published in the Abstracts Book.
  • No additional submission is required for this stage.

Stage 2 · Optional

Full-Text Publication

  • After the conference, authors who wish to publish full papers based on their presentations must apply separately to one of the publication options below.
  • A separate application is required.

Abstract + Full Paper in Proceedings Book

  • Abstract in the Abstracts Book
  • Extended version of the conference presentation published as a journal article

Abstract + Book Chapter

  • Abstract in the Abstracts Book
  • Extended version of the conference presentation published as a book chapter
  • Only when a book project is announced

Submission Procedures

A Abstracts Book (Automatic)

  • Abstracts are submitted through the ICETOL 2027 submission system.
  • They are included in the Abstracts Book automatically if the paper is registered and presented.

B Proceedings Book

To be considered for the Proceedings Book:

  • Prepare your 4–6 page full paper based on your conference presentation using the manuscript template.
  • Upload your full paper to your existing submission under My Papers in your ICETOL account.
  • Deadline: 31 August 2027

C Journal Publications

To be considered for journal publication:

  • Submit your manuscript based on your conference presentation directly to the selected journal.
  • Follow the journal’s author guidelines.
  • Include in the cover letter to the editor:
    • a statement reminding the editor that this submission is based on your presentation at ICETOL 2027,
    • your ICETOL 2027 Paper ID,
    • your presentation title.

Note: All journal submissions undergo independent peer review. Final decisions are made by journal editors. Submission does not guarantee publication.

Authors wishing to publish a journal article based on an extended version of their ICETOL 2027 conference presentation must prepare their manuscript according to the journal’s guidelines. Manuscripts must align with the journal’s aim and scope and should be submitted through the journal’s own submission system.

This applies to all journals below except Open Praxis, whose submission details will be provided soon.

The following journals have been confirmed for collaboration. Given that each journal follows its own submission protocols, authors are expected to comply with the specific guidelines of their selected publication.

C1. Turkish Online Journal of Distance Education (TOJDE)

Free of Charge Web of Science (ESCI) – Q2

TOJDE is an open-access, peer-reviewed academic distance education journal. Although distance education has now a history of over 150 years, with the unprecedented developments in digital technologies and new paradigms, there has been an ever-increasing demand for experts and expertise in distance education.

C2. Open Praxis

Free of Charge Web of Science (ESCI) – Q2

Open Praxis is a peer-reviewed open access scholarly journal focusing on research and innovation in open, distance, and flexible education. It is published by International Council for Open and Distance Education – ICDE.

C3. Journal of Educational Technology and Online Learning (JETOL)

Free of Charge Special Issue Title: ICETOL2027

JETOL is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing the fields of educational technology and online learning. The journal serves researchers, practitioners, and policymakers by providing a platform for the dissemination of innovative research and practices in online and distance education.

C4. The European Journal of Open, Distance and E-Learning (EURODL)

Free of Charge

The European Journal of Open, Distance and E-Learning (EURODL) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research on open, distance, online, and technology-enhanced learning. Established in 1995, EURODL serves as a key platform for scholars, educators, and policymakers to explore innovations, best practices, and theoretical advancements in digital education. The journal covers a wide range of topics, including pedagogical strategies, learning analytics, artificial intelligence in education, and digital inclusion. Published by the EDEN Digital Learning Europe, EURODL fosters a global dialogue on the future of learning in digital environments.

C5. International Journal of Computers in Education (IJCE)

Free of Charge

IJCE is an international, open access, peer-reviewed e-journal which publishes high quality and original research and review papers conducted in the field of educational technology or technology education. The IJCE has been being published biannually (June, December).

C6. Asian Journal of Distance Education (AsianJDE)

Free of Charge Indexed in ERIC, EBSCOhost Education Source

The main aim of AsianJDE is to disseminate scholarly works and information useful to researchers and practitioners in the growing field of distance education in Asia. The Journal also aims to provide a forum for discussions within and directly relating to distance education, and so elicits theoretical and practical solutions to address issues concerning distance education. The AsianJDE has a specific focus on the Asian context as well as the global context.

C7. Journal of Online Learning Studies (Jour-OLS)

Free of Charge

Jour-OLS is an open-access double-blind peer reviewed academic online learning journal. The Journal targets both researchers, practitioners, and policy-makers of online distance learning fields. Jour-OLS is available free-of-charge to anyone with access to the internet, and there are no article submission or access charges for publication, and it has been published annually in December.

C8. Educational Technology Theory and Practice (ETTP)

Free of Charge ULAKBIM (TR Dizin) and EBSCO Host

ETTP aims to provide an international refereed scholarly and open-access journal to publish high-quality studies in Educational Technology. The journal publishes studies focusing on theoretical and practical aspects of educational technology, including but not limited to research reports, experimental studies, survey studies, and research reviews. These studies can be analysis, development, implementation, and evaluation of the interventions designed to propose the solutions with technology for the educational/instructional needs of individuals and society, made with different methodological approaches. The language of submissions can be English or Turkish.

C9. Journal of Emerging Minds in Undergraduate Research (JEMUR)

Free of Charge Academic Journal – Open Access

The Journal of Emerging Minds in Undergraduate Research (JEMUR) is an open-access academic journal designed to provide a comprehensive and interdisciplinary publication platform for undergraduate and graduate students. The journal publishes innovative research that connects multiple fields through a coherent research question and welcomes scholarly work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, digital arts, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering, and business. JEMUR aims to showcase original scientific and creative contributions from emerging researchers by offering theoretical frameworks and empirical insights into the impacts of digital transformation and technological advancement on contemporary society.

For JEMUR, prepare your manuscript according to the journal’s Call for Papers and author guidelines, and submit it by following the submission procedures announced in the Call for Papers.

D Edited Books

Potential book projects will be announced here.

When a book project is announced, to be considered for a book chapter:

  • Submit your manuscript based on your conference presentation directly to the relevant book project.
  • Follow the specific instructions provided under each book.
  • Include in the submission e-mail:
    • a statement reminding the editor that this submission is based on your presentation at ICETOL 2027,
    • your ICETOL 2027 Paper ID,
    • your presentation title.
